Who we are

Life is better with real connection and friendship. Honestly, that’s the whole point!

But that’s hard to do as an adult. Studies show that it takes about 50 hours of time together to transition from acquaintance to an actual friend. And in our normal, packed agenda lives that feels impossible to do.

I created Kyyros club because travel can be a perfect way to form a friendship, especially if the people you’re traveling with are from the same area you are. You’ll bond over the new sights, giggle at the silly jokes, and maybe even (happy?) cry during the reflection activities.

The retreats are perfect for people who are curious about the world and are looking to have friendships long after the trip ends. Our member only community events will also keep the adventure alive when you’re back home.

What’s with the name?

In ancient Greek mythology, Kairos is the god of the opportune moment. Kairos would sprint around balancing a time scale searching for the moment when it was perfectly balanced. A flash in time when you know you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Most of my “kairos” moments have happened to me while traveling, and I think it’s a perfect intention to have in the midst of sometimes chaotic travel experiences. I hope that club members will leave the retreat feeling like they were meant to be there, meant to meet someone else on the trip, and inspired to be themselves every day going forward.
